Admission Criteria

While displaying a remarkably wide range of backgrounds and experiences, successful INSEAD Master in Finance candidates are distinguished by demonstrated quantitative skills, academic excellence, strong interpersonal skills and the potential to succeed as a leader in a competitive, global, business environment. We welcome applications from around the world regardless of race, religion, gender, colour or financial status. Our aim is to build an exciting, dynamic and diverse student body.

Transcripts

Academic performance is demonstrated by providing official transcripts of grades, Degrees and Diplomas with a certified translation in English, where applicable. Photocopies are not accepted unless officially certified. You can upload these for our reference on line during the application process, but to finalise your application, please send official documents by post to:

INSEAD Master in Finance Admissions
Boulevard de Constance
77305 Fontainebleau Cedex - FRANCE

Transcripts sent via e-mail will not be accepted.

GMAT or GRE

INSEAD does not have a minimum required GMAT or GRE score but in order to be competitive, you should aim to achieve a score at or above the 75 - 80 percentiles in either test. Please keep in mind, however, that test scores are just one of several admission criteria. A high score does not guarantee admission, and a below average score does not eliminate a candidate.

Your GMAT or GRE score is valid for five years.

English

If English is not your native language, you can demonstrate fluency by one of two methods:

• If you possess a full university degree (undergraduate or postgraduate) where all courses were taught in English, we will accept your degree as proof of your fluency in English. Your transcripts should clearly indicate that the curriculum was entirely taught in English.

• Otherwise, you may take one of the following English language tests (the required minimum score is in brackets): TOEFL (iTOEFL: 105, Computer-Based: 260, Paper-Based, 620); IELTS (7.5); CPE (B) and the PTE Academic (72), TOEIC Listening and Reading ( 950); TOEIC Writing (170); TOEIC Speaking (190). For TOEIC, you need to submit score results for all parts: Listening, Reading, Speaking and Writing.

• Living and working in an English-speaking environment is not accepted as proof of fluency in English on its own.

Professional Experience

The INSEAD Master in Finance does not have an absolute requirement for years of work experience, although four to six years is preferred. Applicants with less experience who demonstrate strong quantitative skills and exceptional maturity through their professional and personal experiences will also be considered.

Essays

We look for participants who will contribute proactively and share the insights they have gained throughout their professional and personal experience. We seek candidates who demonstrate a clear desire for intellectual growth, both in the classroom and in their professional life. We welcome participants who are mature, energetic, highly motivated, well-rounded, and possess strong quantitative and potential to succeed.
